Insulation Works to Stone Walls of Victorian Dwelling
Internal insulation has been carefully assessed to ensure no risk of condensation. Old lath and plaster was removed only in rooms which had defective plaster and no decorative cornicing. A lime parge coat was applied, over which wood fibre plaster and 2 coats of lime plaster were applied. A super fine plaster skim was also added.
We used a thermal imaging camera to check quality of work.
Lofts were insulated with 300mm of wool.
Suspended timber floors were very carefully raised, ventilation upgraded, and insulation supported between joists on a breathable membrane. Boards were then relaid.
We will be reinspecting to monitor the performance.
