Low Energy Retrofit
This was a complex, low-energy retrofit of an unusual house in Guestling, near Hastings.
The house was built in incremental stages throughout the 1960’s. It involved an odd mix of construction methods, each type requiring careful assessment in order to select appropriate insulation methods and the transitions at changes in construction.
By applying our experience of upgrading existing buildings, and by engaging closely with the client and structural engineer, we were able to support the client’s brief to design a marketable, thermally efficient, modern family home.
