Roof Replacement in Sevenoaks
A beautiful Victorian country house with complex valley roof and multiple chimneys. Original skeilings had been insulated with dried hay and gable walls with insulating pumice granules.
We have worked on an extension and several phases of improvements including the recent recovering of the main roofs and replacement of lead valley gutters. The opportunity was taken to insulate the skeilings with sheepswool between rafters, and woodfibre over the rafters. While this improved thermal insulation it created the need for careful detailing at gable ends; abutments and under the valley due to the increased roof height. All insulation used was natural and breathable.
