Traditional and Vernacular Eco House for 21st Century
A new family home in a Conservation Area was designed by the client (Architect and Conservation Officer). It uses traditional materials including brick, flint, clay tiles and timber cladding.
Conker provided the energy performance calculations using the Passivhaus Planning Package, and produced the detailed design, calculated to achieve a specific space heating demand of 15 kWh/m² a.
The house uses tripled glazing, heat recovery ventilation and a tiny gas boiler to heat ventilation air and towel warmers.
