A whole house refurbishment of an ex MOD house including a large straw bale extension is well underway.

A floating concrete slab has been laid on insulation which supports the inner edge of the straw bale ladder.  The straw was grown and baled from less than 1 mile away.  A glulam frame has been erected to support a flat roof, and triple glazing installed.

The existing house will be insulated externally and have a new insulated floor slab with underfloor heating.
