EnerPHit Self Build
Progress continues on this EnerPHit self-build in Leigh on Sea. External wall insulation using 200mm of woodfibre is fitted and rendering is in progress. Second floor windows have been installed and made airtight. A MVHR system and ducts have also been fitted.
Triple glazed windows are now installed on the east and west main elevations, just leaving the south elevation windows and doors to be installed.
A solar shading system has been designed and is being manufactured offsite using glued laminated Douglas fir from France. The house is detached with 3 bay windows, each of which need a unique shading solution.
Mid-progress air leakage testing showed that the previously super-draughty loft room is now very airtight, so the taping and membrane was successful.
