Fire Improvements
We helped the Dover Federation For The Arts Multi Academy Trust win a bid of £400k for fire improvements to the secondary school, by carrying out a condition survey and detailed inspections of the building.
The building is of CLASP construction (Consortium of Local Authorities Special Programme) consisting of a steel frame with light steel lattice beams supporting corrugated steel roof decking with asphalt finish, and floors of thin pre-cast concrete panels. External walls consist of either Crittal curtain walling or concrete blockwork.
The contract was won by Walker Construction. The works included fire protection, new fire doors, bridge repairs, access ramps and balustrades, new partitions, and fire alarm.
