New Oak Framed House
Work has just commenced on site at a new house designed in collaboration with Norton Timber. Planning permission was obtained in March for the demolition of the existing farmhouse which was beyond repair.
The new house will be oak framed, then clad with insulation and weatherboarding over a brick plinth. Norton Timber have a wealth of experience designing and detailing timber frames, and were keen to work with us to develop a robust and well insulated thermal envelope which can overcome the difficulties of the oak shrinkage.
Norton will also be extending their normal scope of work to project manage the project.
