This build is nearing completion.

The exterior is partly clad in the client’s own sweet chestnut felled on site and seasoned, boards are up to 300mm wide.

The client is decorating the interior.

The house is heated by a single wood fired Passivhaus suitable stove which supplies 75% of its 3kW peak heat to hot water. A MVHR system has been installed and commissioned, and triple glazing completed.

The preliminary air test showed up a problem – the house was too airtight for our normal tester’s equipment to measure down to, below 0.4ach.
