School Boiler Replacement
We applied for and won CIF funding for the replacment of a traditional oil fired boiler with new biomass boilers.
The old boiler proved difficult to remove, being a single unit of welded mild steel weighing 3 tonnes, as opposed to sectional units which are more common.
New pellet boilers have been installed and commissioned in time to receive a RHI grant for 25 years. Boilers heat a 3000 litre buffer vessel which feeds a district heating main leading to several school blocks.

The new system will offer much finer and efficient control of heating, compared to the former system which could only be switched off or else run on maximum output!
