The Westgate Community Hall was rescued from demolition by a community group in 2012 and refurbished to high levels of energy efficiency- 300mm of sheeps wool in the roof, internal wall insulation, and wind catcher ventilation system. Conker was on the design and management team.



This event was organised by Conker Conservation Ltd, Chartered Building Surveyors and Certified Passivhaus Designers. We have been dedicated to low energy sustainable building design since 1999. We have been running the AECB Kent Group since 2011.
The AECB is the UK longest established sustainable building charity promoting energy efficiency since 1989, it was responsible for establishing the Passivhaus Trust, and provides training and guidance on sustainable buildings.
